Medical disclaimer
Plain English, because this matters more than the legal boilerplate suggests.
This is education, not treatment
BrunsonPT exists to make rehabilitation knowledge accessible — to explain how injuries heal, what the phases of recovery generally involve, and why certain exercises and tools are commonly used. That is education. It is not medical advice, and reading this site does not create a provider–patient relationship between you and Stevie Brunson Jr. or The Brunson Group LLC.
Explaining is not prescribing
A licensed physical therapist assistant works under the direction of a supervising physical therapist and does not evaluate, diagnose, or design plans of care. Nothing published here is a treatment plan, and nothing here should be substituted for one. Deciding which exercises are appropriate for your injury, at what stage, and in what dosage requires an in-person evaluation.
I can’t evaluate you
Everything here is written for a general audience. A clinician who can examine you, review your imaging, and understand your surgical restrictions will always know more about your situation than a website can. Where their guidance differs from anything published here, follow theirs — without exception.
Talk to someone before you start
Check with your physician or treating therapist before beginning any exercise program described on this site — especially if you are recovering from surgery, have a new or undiagnosed injury, are pregnant, or have a cardiovascular, neurological, or bone density condition.
Stop and seek care if
- Pain is sharp, sudden, or significantly worse than before you started
- A joint locks, catches, gives way, or won’t bear weight
- You develop new numbness, tingling, or weakness
- You lose bladder or bowel control, or develop numbness in the groin or inner thighs
- You have back pain with fever, or unexplained weight loss
- A surgical site becomes red, hot, swollen, or starts draining
If you think you may be having a medical emergency, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency department. Do not wait to hear back from a website.
Product recommendations
Equipment reviewed here is assessed for general usefulness in home rehabilitation. No product on this site is a medical device recommendation, and none is a substitute for equipment specifically prescribed to you. Follow manufacturer instructions and any weight or usage limits.
Affiliate relationships
Some links on this site are affiliate links, meaning a small commission may be earned on purchases at no additional cost to you. This does not affect which products are recommended or how they are assessed.
Accuracy over time
Rehabilitation guidance evolves. Articles are dated, and while they’re reviewed periodically, older posts may not reflect current best practice. If something here conflicts with what your clinician told you recently, theirs is the current information.
