Rehab tools I actually recommend
Thirteen hands-on reviews of at-home rehab equipment, organized by what you’re recovering from. Including the things I tell patients not to bother buying.
Before you buy anything: for the large majority of the programs on this site, a set of resistance bands, something to elevate a limb, and a hard floor covers it. I review the expensive equipment so you can decide whether it’s worth it. The answer is usually no.
How I evaluate equipment
- Hands on it first. I don’t review equipment I haven’t used, personally or with patients.
- Judged against the alternative. The question is never “is this good?” but “is this better than the $12 version, or than nothing?”
- Recommendations can be negative. Plenty of popular products don’t make the cut, and I say so.
